Who are you?
I describe myself as a slick syllable spectacular wordsmith. I'm also a great a&r so the production I pick out and or make myself is always on point with what a listener would hear from their top 5 emcees. I like to take my time and write out my thoughts carefully. Rarely do I punch my vocals while recording, I'm a "one take jake" in the studio.
Where are you from?
Im from Los Angeles but I grew up mainly in Lansing Michigan. There wasn't a huge hip hop scene in Lansing. My generation created the sound of the city and since we're not from a major market the solid artist had to branch out to bigger cities and get established. Our only big celebrity was Magic Johnson, who also had to move to LA to become a star. I plan to be the Jay Z of my city, someone everybody sees as a beacon of hope. My Journey to Cali started with me joining the Marine Corps and becoming a family man. I love the LA music scene, there are some amazing Hip Hop artist from here (like Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, YG and Late Nipsey Hussle) that put the pressure on the up and coming acts to bring their A game.
