Who are you?
I am a singer, songwriter and producer, and I do absolutely everything for my music, I’m very hands on, and work entirely alone, other than when I collaborate with other artists. But I prefer it being that way, because the people listening to my songs will know it’s 100% coming from me, and nobody else. And if anything goes wrong I’m the only one to blame.
Music is therapy to me, everything I write is like lifting a weight off my shoulders, whatever I’m feeling at the time, or something that might be bothering me I basically turn into a song.
Where are you from?
My name is Kiera Starr, I’m 23 years old, and I’m from London UK. The music scene here is extremely varied depending on where you look, and what you’re into it. In my opinion, pop runs the world, and is one of my favourite genres. Rock has also seemed to pick back up in recent years, and I love adding rock elements to some of my songs. ‘Motel Whore’ & ‘The Great Depression’ are two songs of mine that are heavier on the rock side, I think Olivia Rodrigo really brought Pop/Rock genre back to life with Sour.
I think the UK has great spaces for grime and hiphop artists as well, especially in London.
